1. Login or Register

To join TalkingStick, simply register using a username that will represent you in the group. Given that TalkingStick is currently in its prototype phase and primarily for testing, account verification is not required, and you can use any simple password.

Getting Started

Upon logging in, you will be asked to select a 'Discussion Group', with 'General' as the default option.

2. Join a Group

After joining a 'Discussion Group', you will encounter the TalkingStick user interface. This interface displays a list of all registered usernames in the Group. Alongside each name, a colorful bar allows you to upvote or downvote a speaker based on how you feel about what is being said.

Below the coloured voting bar you'll find 'Group Vote' stats. This provides participants with real-time updates on voting trends. The higher the score, the more popular the speaker. A negative score means participants are not interested in hearing from a speaker.

Further down is the 'Strategic Ally'. Listening to your 'Strategic Ally' provides perspectives that can most effectively enhance your position within the group.
